Inputs

1. Normalize the new role before querying the ATS

Translate the current brief into explicit requirements, adjacent titles, skill families, donor-company hypotheses, and verification questions. Do not rely on the exact historical title stored in the ATS.

2. Search prior evidence, not just keyword fields

Use resume text, interview notes where policy permits, prior requisitions, skills, recruiter notes, and application context as separate evidence surfaces. A candidate can be rediscoverable even when an old title no longer matches the current role literally.

3. Respect state and consent

Suppress candidates who should not be re-contacted, distinguish recent recruiter activity from stale records, and surface prior disposition/context before a new outreach decision.

4. Rank against the current brief

Re-score the historical candidate against today’s requirements rather than inheriting the old requisition outcome. Prior rejection for a different role is context, not a universal negative label.

5. Measure rediscovery contribution

Track how many evidence-fit candidates were found in owned talent before external sourcing, how many were net-new to the current team, and how many required profile refresh or verification.
